Mastiff Puppies for Sale

Even though they appear to have been bred in England, the Mastiff appears in Egyptian drawings as long ago as 3000 B.C. In 55 B.C., they were even noticed by Caesar as these fearless, strong dogs fought beside the British soldiers. Caesar was so impressed with the courage these dogs displayed that he took some of them home with him to Rome. There, he forced them to participate in such cruel activities as lion fighting, bull baiting, and human gladiator fighting. Peasants in England later used the Mastiff to protect homes by keeping away such dangerous predators as wolves. Being a watchdog was the main job of this breed for over two thousand years.

These dogs hold the honor of being one of the largest to be acknowledged by the AKC. They love the company of humans and bond very closely with their human family. They possess qualities of courage, docility, dignity, and friendliness, making them the perfect pet for most families. They are powerful, gentle and loyal companions.

The coat of a Mastiff is short and comes in colors of apricot, fawn or brindle. Their coats require only minimal care. Due to their size, these dogs need plenty of space to run around. For this reason, they are happier in country or suburban homes. In that way, you will only have to provide light exercise for them as they can create their own activity. Have a look at the following ads to see if your new Mastiff might be among them.
