Ryder - German Shepherd Puppy for Sale in Newaygo County, MI

Through no fault of his own, Ryder was returned to us by a young couple who were first-time German Shepherd owners and simply were not prepared for the needs of a medium-to-high drive German Shepherd bred with IGP and working ability in mind. Ryder is from our Helena & Garry litter, born December 18th, 2025. He will be ready to go to his permanent home around the end of October. We are keeping him with us for a while so we can work on his manners, boundaries, and overall structure before placing him. Ryder is actually very well trained for his age. He knows sit, down, stay, leave it, place, kennel, and center, where he positions himself between your legs. He also waits to be released before eating and before coming out of his crate. His biggest issue is not a lack of training, but rather that he has been allowed to push boundaries and needs a confident, consistent handler who will reinforce the training he already knows. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. He is good with children and can do well with other dogs when properly introduced. Since being back with us, he has been out with both of my males, as well as Pyper and Helena, and has had no issues with any of them. Ryder is a strong-willed, medium-to-high drive young male who needs an experienced German Shepherd home that understands structure, consistency, mental stimulation, and appropriate outlets for his drive. Preference will be given to a home interested in sports, advanced obedience, hiking, running, or another active lifestyle where he can stay both mentally and physically engaged. Our priority is finding the right fit for him, not placing him quickly. All potential homes will be vetted, and there is a rehoming fee. We are located in Michigan. Ryder is almost 9 months old, he is still intact, he is up to date on vaccinations, has been dewormed, recently had a clear fecal test, and will leave with a health guarantee covering hips and elbows. Ryder is being placed with NO breeding rights on Limited AKC registration. He is NOT a stud prospect, and will be sold on a signed neuter contract.
