Shylah - German Shepherd Female Dog in Raleigh, NC

Shylah is a, almost 3-year-old, in-tact GSD. She is about 73lbs. She has gone through 4 cycles and is ready for breeding. While I do not own her parents, I do have photos of both. Her father is AKC certified and is an all-black GSD. Her mother is a red-brown and black GSD. We have raised Shylah since 8 weeks of age. Shylah’s temperament is sassy but oh so sweet. She has always been a fast learner and extremely intelligent. Shylah loves people more than dogs, is very loyal, and has natural motherly instincts as she always stays close by our children and the neighborhood children. Her “job” is making sure everyone is safe and not too far from the group. Although we are not requiring stud candidates to have produced a litter, we are looking for owners that do have knowledge of the breeding process. Shylah MUST meet the stud beforehand, before she is in heat so that she feels comfortable with the dog. Shylah can be nervous around certain dogs, and we want to make sure she is 100 comfortable and friendly with the stud before breeding. Shylah is always up to date on her preventatives and vaccines. In addition, we use the Embark for breeders DNA test kit. Shylah’s results show over 16 different areas tested for health conditions. Including her hip and elbow dysplasia and degenerative myelopathy DM results and her OFA advance cardiac screening results. We highly recommend using this DNA test kit as it also provides information on breed ancestry and genetic coefficient of inbreeding to make sure that your stud and their bitch COI scores are acceptable. Because the health of our girl is of the upmost importance to us, we will provide this test kit to the owners to administer to their stud 1. AFTER proof of vaccinations and a clean bill of health including results of Brucella blood testing from a veterinarian and 2. After the stud and Shylah have had a friendly introduction with one another, 3. we would then give the owners the testing kit and wait for documented results of the stud before proceeding to sign a contract and breed them. Shylah is not AKC registered. This will be Shylah’s first and only litter.
