| Your little girl should be fully matured and ready to breed by this time. Make sure you put her with a small male or one that is known to throw small puppies. If she is 5 pounds or under you might really reconsider breeding her. She might have birthing problems no matter what size the puppies are.

| well i am not a breedeer of doxies but i am an ethical breeder and some dogs are just not ready at that time...do what you want but those of us who have done the handfeeding and litter raising things alot dont take chances on doing it unnecessarily. It isnt fun

I am a dachshund breeder and I always wait till my daxies are over a year old and have come into season twice. They do wonderful and make great little momas. I have been doing this for 4 years and I have never had any problem with my momas or babies. My vet lets people know that I have some of the healthest and prettiest puppies he has ever seen. Your daxie being over 2 and her third season should be fine. Just find a male that is smaller then her. Good luck. here is a picture of one of my babies that I have raised.

| Would suggest not breeding her. Theres plenty of Dachshunds available and finding homes for the babies can be tough espeically if theyre lower quality. I would suggest spaying her.
If you really want to breed her take her to the vet to have her checked out for health in her back joints and reproductive organs. Dont forget to ask about C-Section prices and emergency vet care for the momma and puppies so you can save just in case something bad happens. Let your vet know youre thinking of breeding her he can probably point you in the direction of a Doxie breeder or two who may have a stud or ties to find that perfect stud for your girl.
Best of luck to the both of you.
