| you might have something in his crate that is making him do that.watch for swelling because he might be allergic to it. I had a chihuahua do the same thing and once I took everything out and changed different bedding it worked.she swelled real bad and cough and the vet told me to use children liquid antihistimine. it took care of it in a few days.

| My mother has a chihuahua that would cough off and on again. She learned about giving childrens allergy medicine and it works really well For a small dog one or two drops every day will do the trick. Some veterinarians want to scam you into buying dog specific medicines to make money but if you talk to enough people you learn that human remedies are just as good but you need to be careful with the dosage.

| Gah more misinformation. Please take your dog to the vet. There is a reason for the coughing. I know that my friends pom would did this and it was due to a collapsing trachea.

| Sierra Kennel is right it is important to have the pup checked for any physical problems that could be causing the coughing. If there is nothing physically wrong then I would check for humidity levels reaction to carpeting or something else in the bedroom that could be causing the cough.
