| Im reloceting to Fort Collins,CO. Finally going to a house that I can have a dog again. Im a outdoor guy, I never lived in a cold town ever. Not sure about which would be a good breed to have there. I like Labs, Bolders Collies.... Please tell me what you guy recommend...

| Ft Collins is mild compared to MN od ND. Nights in the mountain always cool off. We didnt need AC when we lived in Colo Springs. We had a German wirehair pointer. Any dog would be great but think of grooming if you plan on alot of hiking. Long coats will pick up all kinds of thorns, stickers, etc. Hard coats dont hold burrs

You need to seek out a dog breed that suits your life style, not the dog to fit a particular climate per se.
You need an active breed IF indeed you are an active person. In colder and warmer temperatures, the long nosed dogs do better, ie collies, labs, german shepherds

| Someone I once saw online, and Im thinking it was connected to Browning firearms in some way, started to breed Labs in Utah, but found out it was too cold so they went out of business with the Labs. If you want the dog for outdoors in the cold there are many too choose from. You might want to use your browser and type in questions that might find a cold weather dog.

Well Australian Shepherds are an active Playful smart breed. Good coat on them. But also a couple of levels lower down on the Intensey level than BCs.
