| Questions on when to stud my mini schnauzer

| He is only 6 months old right now but the vet says he is ready to stud I was just wondering if this is a good idea and if I do stud him are there any tests I need to make sure are done. He is a beutiful dog and has a sweet temperment. very good with kids . He is also AKC registered. I just would like some feedback on what age is a good age and what I should look for in a bitch.

| Have you done the research on what genetic defects your breed may carry? I suggest you start there.
I would also recommend you contact the breeder you bought your pup from and ask them for their advice.
I believe your vet probably said your pup is old enough to breed. Most breeders do not use their dogs for breeding until they are over a year old.
Have you had a brucellosos test done? You will want to make sure that the females have also had this test done. You will need to do this test each time you breed to an outside female.

| Thank you Very much for the advice I have aranged for my dog to get the tests and I am having his DNA done I will talk to the breeder as you suggested. I already had his eyes and hips checked so far so good . Again thank you for your advice.

| Has it occurred to you that breeding just because he is sweet is nothing more than a puppy mill, money making adventure rather than breeding for quality dogs with NO HEALTH ISSUES?

| There are NO Such Thing AS Teacup schnauzers, try looking at the akc standards
Colors - THE ONLY RECOGNIZED COLORS are BLACK, BLACK SILVER and SALT PEPPER
Save yourself lots of heartaches buying from these people, buy ONLY from reputable breeders. Go to AKC and use their breeder lists.
