| A Police raid on April 232008 at Lornick Kennels in Sterling Heights Mich resulted in the removal of 60 dogs and puppies 12 cats and a horse. This breeder has been known since 1974 for breeding albino Dobermans . The other breeds removed were RottweilersChihuahuasLhasa apsosShih Tzus and Rat Terriers. Many of the animals had open sores infected eyes and all were filthy and mal nourished.

| That is wonderful about the shut down in Michigan... But I hope you are all aware that puppymills I am talking Pennsylvania now are now advertising on very legitimate sites like this one and other good ones ... through people who help them list their pups online... It is not at all the SITES fault... but it is the consumers responsibility to look for the signs.. and someone having like 20 breeds or hybids listed may be fronting puppymills... Simple things to ask can tell you who might be doing this...

| yes I know what you mean there is one from Ohio whith like 5-6 different breeds the same age advertised here and from Ohios puppymill area. That is why I am here and going to put info about Westies here to help the public find good breeders

| I do think the site owners have a responsibility in this I have twice notified this site about a certain breeder with ads here. I was assured it would be checked and nothing has changed in the nine months i have been on here. This person has anywhere from 10 to 20 breeds with at least one litter of each breed advertised at all times. I would call that a PUPPY MILL. I had a thread about this on here before but it has completely disappeared. Isnt that strange when there are threads on here two years old?? There is also a broker on here in Lancaster county Pennsylvania

| Rose and everyone.. the broker from PA was the one I was talking about... I was invited to join here and did and then went looking at the ads.. and saw this broker... You cannot STOP brokers from doing business... and you might as well save your breath trying... but you can educate... and at least some people will see when all those breeds are up... well... its a flag... and that broker who will remain nameless.. I personally KNOW advertises for breeders that have on premises over 500 dogs.. several of them.. that is why there are always puppies... of all those breeds--all the time... The different sites that offer advertising --just cannot GO to all the people who advertise with them and SEE their dogs... its an impossible task... AND if you tell them about a breeder you think is questionable... it is YOUR word against THEIRS... you see their dilemma??? I do believe that most of the sites try their best to not promote puppymills.. but they can only do so much... and in forums .. we have to try to be fair... just JUMPING on a certain breeder by name is the same as slander... and the same laws apply to people who do it on the internet... as to those who do it say in a newspaper etc...

| PS also the advertising sites like this one HAVE TO take down threads when people are bashing other people... again its slander.. even if you feel it is totally true...
