| OFA stats show that 75 percent that aresubmitted are dysplastic. You really need to xray before even considering breeding your bulldogs

| Im a breeder of American Bulldogs and you really need to do your homework before breeding your two dogs. You have to have hips tested and you should test for NCL. Its a genetic disease that we can get rid of. http//www.caninegeneticdiseases.net/CL_site/sympAMBD.htm
Theres also Ichthyosis and is hereditary. A couple of bloodlines have been determined to carry this disease. Please do a lot of research before you decide to breed

I second the research. Do you know the difference between Johnson bulldogs and Scott bulldogs? Have you done any health testing? What do the pedigrees of your dogs look like? Have you done any showing, weight pull, agility, etc with them? This breed is unlike any other I have ever had in my life, and it is SO important that you have an idea what you are doing, or you run the risk of producing REALLY bad puppies. We researched for YEARS before we even got our breeding stock, waited 2 years just to get the female pup we wanted, and then waited another 3 years before we bred her to be sure that she was going to be what we wanted. And even then it was a lot of work with AI to get her pregnant. Are you prepared to pay to do all the health screenings, bloodwork, vet visits, etc just to get your female pregnant? And then there are the expenses for whelping boxes, vaccines, puppy food, vet checks/health certificates etc... It adds up a LOT quicker then you would think, so if you want to breed to make money, chances are you wont. I dont mean to sound harsh, but that is the reality. Evan at $1250 a puppy this litter we will barely break even. WE do it for the love of the breed - not to get rich.
