| How do you train a cute stuburn West Highland Terrior to not pee and make territory marks all over the house?

| The easiest remedy is to crate train the pup and not allow him access to the house without supervision until he figures out that it is not acceptable.

| My dog is really stuburn though and when we put him in his kennel he cries the whole time. Even with his bark collar on Hes willing to shock himself to get out And also he broke his kennel crate. Im not sure how he did it but hes one strong dog. Hes going to be a year in November.

| The supervision part though sounds like a good idea because he also likes to chew on things hes not supposed to.

Have you taken your puppy to any training classes? It sounds like he is acting out.
A bark collar inside a crate This is a really big NO NO. He is supposed to think of his crate as a refuge not the electric chair.
There are several good books on basic puppy training your dog is still a puppy.
He sounds like he needs a LOT of exercise and companionship from you.
I have 5 PRTs I know Im crazy and all are crate trained. All terriers are HIGH energy dogs and need a lot of exercise to make them act normal.
Good luck with your training and please no more bark collar a water bottle is just as effective and you dont end up with a crazed animal.

| Yeah thanks. But I didnt leave him in there with the bark collar because he was crying. That would be to cruel. I guess I could use a water bottle but he really likes water so I dont know if it will work or not but I will try. And I think that i will put him in training classes.

| you can use clickers thats what you use 4 your stubborn dogs and when you want it to use puppy pads but the extra strength let it sit there with it all day and it will have to use it and when it does use the cliker you can also use anything that makes a loud noise that gets ther attention but that dont scare them or they will thnk they did something bad and give them a treat and if they mark their terrotory then spray somethng freshener and it will stop marking it there they mostly mark there terrotory when there is other boys in the house but you can use the clicker and puppy pads to help them with the problem remember they can be very smart when they learn the real deal... any ?s email me JaydaBamboo@aol.com for more questions...
