I have 2-male yorkies Jack Alphie I am wanting to breed Jack but he is still too young he is 7-mts old but he is the cotty hair. He is Akc. Alphie is 3-yrs old but he a rescue. He is the silky coat. He is a beauty.
Anyway this is my question How do you get a silky coat?

| a properly bred yorkie should have an appropriate coat. the 7 months old might still be too young to show its adult coat. if he is from good breeding his coat should straighten out and grow.
check out www.akc.org and look up the breed standard and visit the yorkie parent club for more info correct coats and how coat should look at what age.
to proper breed a coat you must start out with a pair of good coated speciments.

Well Jack is 7mts now and his coat is straight and his part down the middle is showing. Yes he is still young for breeding. We will wait awhile
