| Help finding a breeder...
| |
| While working near Ohio State Universitys vet hospital I recently on 3 seperate occasions ran into a couple who had a 3 1/2 month old female great dane puppy that I fell in love with Well on the last time that we had spoken I had asked these people for the name of the breeder that they had gotten this wonderful Dane from and a number. Subsequently I lost the phone number of the breeder before I cold contact them Also it has been some time since I have seen this couple to try to attain the phone number again. I have spent countless hours on the internet looking for the breeders number or contact info again to no avail I know this is a shot in the dark but was wondering if you may be able to help either in the remote possiblity you know the breeders or maybe where I could get info to try to contact them myself and/or track them down. The only information I have is that they are located in Portsmouth Ohio. And their last name is Price or Pryce and that the last litter they had with this puppy was approximately 3 1/2-4 months agofrom October 22nd 2007. I apppologize for troubling you but any help I could get would be more appreciated than you know. I have spent alot of time deciding to have a Dane as a part of my family and had finally found a puppy with the temperment we all fell in love with. Help
p.s. I have sent this to as many breeders in the Ohio area and waiting responses from any that might be able to help

| Copied from terrificpets.com A reply I posted for the help I got and a requestlong winded from excitement for more If youre willing
Hi all Welp I got the phone call this afternoon from the owner of the puppy I spoke of. He gave me the phone number and such which I plan on calling tomorrow. Thanx to all of you for replying Your quick replies and the emails I recieved were awesome An amazing outporing of help from total strangers is a rarity in this day and agesadly.
Im a little concerned now from some of your replies as to the reputability of this breeder as he/she isnt listed that I can find yet Their name btw is PRISE not pryce or price and located in PortsmouthOh. Anyways being not listed the scams and unscrupulous breeding tactics/horror stories Ive read about since my hard research has gotten me worried.
Perhaps you all could put me in contact with some breeders you know personally a club maybe etc... Any infomation or help also. Ive spent alot of time getting prepared for this puppy to come that Im willing to wait longer if it will be more beneficial for me and the puppy/dogs life I hadnt planned on taking one home any earlier than Febuary or Marchishfinishing a small addition on the house right now. Not to mention its easier to train dogs with better weather. Ive spent ALOT of time researching this breed read as much info I can get my hands on etc... so its not something Im jumping into.
I know a few things for certain about the puppy I want
a female for sure.... their temperments generally match what Im looking for.
Color though this wouldnt supercede a puppy I KNOW is the right even if not color style. Merle hope thats the right term. Gray spotted with random colorization. I dont plan on showing the dog perhaps maybe I will breed it but thats another HUGE decision I wont just leap into and only a minor possibility. I love the color and from what I understand the price difference is HUGE. Id rather take the extra $ from a merle puppy and spend it on more obedience/agility training.
I already have an obedience trainer lined up my sister has used the same woman for years. Shes very patient and loves dogs. A vet also which has a heart of gold for aimimals you can feel beam from her
I was wondering if any or all of you would take a minute and throw any and all advice links emails etc... youre willing to share to help me. To some it seems like Im making this out to be a bigger deal than it should be but for me its not. Especially with a breed as huge as Danes I think I should know all that I can before I commit to something like this. Ive grown up around dogs of all types and breeds but nothing as large as a Dane. Airedlaes G. Shepperpds Rotts etc...Im so excited can ya tell??? hehehe
Patrick feel free to email me also

| Odd. Not one reply IM email or such from this site to help... 2 Other sited Ive registred with and posted the same have had an awesome outpouring of help hints and new ways to think of things. If Ive posted these requests for help in the wrong format or in a way I dont know about that doesnt allow for help/replies than Im sorry If not guess all I can say is thanx for nothing?
Just found it odd that not one reply nor offer for advice was offered here....
The help I DID recieve was immensly helpful about EVERYTHING I had to ask about the breed the training methods what to expect where to look and what to look for in breeders etc.... Is there some private clique I dont know about here?
