| Its pretty hard trying to change a dogs behavoir when they are an adult, however keep her on a leesh and when she does it again, yank her as hard as you can and make her understand what she is doing is wrong...hope that helps, anybody have any other suggestions?

| My dog is only 6 lbs. It would be crule and probibaly very harmful to do this to such a small dog. A firm tug is a usefull training tool, but a jerk is just mean.
A word from my husband: Thats shameful, and you should have no contact with animals. How would you like to have someone tie something around your neck and yank it as hard as they can? Doesnt sound to fun does it? After a quick call to my vet (a personal friend) I found you can cause great harm or death. Show some restraint. After all a dog is a living being, and if you hurt or kill it, you ARE going to have to explain it to GOD.Thanks for you time.

| I am sorry white peach, I meant to do that for bigger, aggresive dogs, you are correct, jerking is mean...

| in defense to ssalman i am sure that he meant a correction enough for the dog to feel but not to cause DEATH OR GREAT BODILY HARM as the vet said, By the way most vets are not experts at training dogs but love to think that theyn are. Anyway to help you with the problem please try to figure out when and why your dog is doing this. Sometimes a dog will try to get the other dogs attention this way and also it may be trying to correct the dog or maybe showing affection. remember that the mother did this to her when she was a pup sometimes being called a LITTER CORRECTION. Usually we correct this by a firm NO!! followed by doing something possitive right after, if that does not work then we may give the dog a correction with the collar ( taking into consideration size and weight of dog) and most important we must allways make sure that the dog knows what we want and dont want from them before we correct or praise. So Ssalman is not a killer and your husband needs to chill out

| I just joined and saw your chewing problem--have you tried using any type of "bitter apple" or "bitter orange" type spray on the other dogs? It may deter her from doing it if she gets a mouth full of "YUK" each time!!! Warning---we use it at our vet clinic....DO NOT SPRAY IT!!!! It is very beneficial to just open the bottle and using the tube end from inside the bottle to just "dab a bit on" for the desired effect!! We use it on dogs who may chew out catheters, or try to chew off bandages!! If you "SPRAY", though, YOU may inhale it and you will taste it for HOURS!! TRUST ME--I know!! YUK!!! Good luck--this may also help if you are not always able to be with your dogs when they are together!! Hope she stops soon---Also, "time out" whenever she does this behavior and will not stop when corrected, may be worth a try! Does she go on walks to get rid of some of her energy?? Just a thought!!!

| I just found the bitter apple spray at my local pet store and was considering trying it. Thank you for the application tip it was thoughtful of you to pass it on. I will try it. I have been trying to keep her seprite from our other dogs except for play time 1 hour each morning and evening but she seems to mis her other house mates so Ill cross my fingers and hope this works.
Thanks

| my Alangu Mastiff Weight 6027kg,Height30 inches 76 cm,Life expectancy 10 years,Litter size 10,They have short hair coats and therefore are usually fawn, red or brindle within colour. The structure of this specific breed is fit and muscle, with long backs and a tail that narrows to some point. Their ears sit at the top of the head. Owners of this breed should be both experienced with large breed dogs and never be timid.
The Alangu Mastiff isnt a traditionally embraced as the fun-loving dog for families. Actually, due to the aggressive and violent nature of the breed it is used as a fighting dog occasionally including Pakistan. However, this characteristic isnt regarded as a downfall from the breed. The Alangu Mastiff includes a deep unbridled instinct to safeguard and guard. For many people this really is an alluring quality. It is considered probably the most dangerous guard dog breeds an individual can own. Nothing makes this dog happier than using a job to do and feel as if it has a purpose.

| I had a Mastiff that chewed everything..the trellis on the deck, wicker furniture, extension cords, etc. I sold him because I couldnt seem to break him. Sold him to a lady that sold antiques. I was honest with her before she bought him. She put him in obedience classes and she told me he never chew again....go figure
