Borzoi puppies are slender and long, resembling greyhounds with long, thick coats. This is because the Borzoi was bred from the Arabian Greyhound and various sheepdogs for thousands of years in Russia to accompany Russian royalty. The Borzoi's coat is silky and long and either wavy or flat and may be any color or a combination of colors. Borzoi puppies are great with other dogs but shouldn't be left alone with small animals. The Borzoi is not so great with children as it does not take well to roughhousing, and should only be trusted with older more responsible children. Hounds do not usually excel at obedience or skill training but the highly-intelligent Borzoi is great at learning new tricks. Borzoi puppies are generally sweet and devoted to their family. They are very peaceful and calm indoors and thus can do well in an apartment. Like all dogs though, the Borzoi needs plenty of exercise and daily walking.
