| My dachsie is 10 yrs.old.. First of all, they are very hard to housebreak. Mine will still try if he thinks he can get away with it. You have to be very stern and show them YOU are the boss. Also, do not allow them to jump off the furniture, go down stairs, or anything that will put any type of strain on the back. Due to the long shape, they can break their back a lot easier than other dogs. They are very lovable dogs and would be happy to sit on your lap all day. Good luck

| Give them lots of love and attention. They are very smart but stubborn when it come to potty training. Be very consistant with them. They will learn, They love to play I hve found that the toys that squeek, tennis balls and the stuffed animals that doesnt have any stuffing in them make the best toys. Ours can jump into my husbands lap when he is sitting in his wheelchair. They are very loving dogs.
