| I have received several phone calls and e-mails from some one named Elizabeth Martins elizabeth4real001@yahoo.com .This person kept insisting on sending me extra money above the price I asked for a puppy to pay her agent who would be picking up the pup.She also demanded my work and cell phone numbers so she could contact me at any time. I told her I didnt ship animals and that the person buying the puppy had to pick it up at my home and sign a contract agreeing to always provide proper food shelter and vet care during the dogs life and that if at any time the owner could no longer care for the dog it would be returned to me. | I was contacted by a scammer that wanted to purchase a puppy of mine. He goes by greg_gosky@yahoo.com. He fit the typical scammer profile ie only contact by email or IM no phone contact as he is in London on busines for Mercedes Benz poor grammar uses okay and cos a lot. Here is a copy of the email

| Some of the worst scammers are the people passing off mass produced puppies as home raised in a loving environment with a family. This is just as big a rip off as any scammer trying to get money from a breeder. These pups come from unsanitary affectionless inhumane backgrounds and often have serious health problems.

| Well this is my only litter. Abby had to have a C-section. My vet felt that because she of how big she was and the inertia that she may have a lot of bleeding. I wouldnt take that chance and had her spayed...Tucker had his little surgery as well. I know that my puppies are being raised in the house with love. I go through tons of puppy pads every day They all have group play and then individual time with me. Though it is hard....it is also a very enjoyable experience. I could not imagine them being outside in a kennel.

| Im new to K9stud and to breeding however I have done everything humanly possible to make sure my dogs are healthy safe and loved. I guarantee my pups for their lifetime and request return if they dont want them anymore. I havent been scammed yet but I did view some puppies listed as $275.00 each when I opened the listing I found about 30 breeds all females and all for the same price. Out of curiosity I emailed them to ask why only girls and only the same price then I got this long email from a lady who said the puppy is owned by a missionary that is out of the country doing Gods work and that he cant meet with me or talk to me since he was always out in the bush? She wrote this long and drawn out reason for not meeting. I told her I thought she was a scammer and puppy mill and that I dont do business with anyone like that. I havent heard more but this kind of thing really bothers me. Im new and like me there are so many others that depend on knowledgable people to help guide them through this. I promise to never create a problem and I wish that every other breeder is as responsible as me

| Ive had my Miniature Schnauzers listed for a week now in two newspapers and on here... This is my second litter to have on my website---not selling over the internet but there so people can see them before buying. Anyway in this weeks time period I have had 2 people wanting to buy puppies that have said they will need all of my information so that the shipping company that they use can come and get them. The first one said she was hearing or speech impaired and this is how she was able to get her consignments. I told her that we dont ship our puppies but instead can be picked up at our home or driven half way to their destination---meeting the new parents in person. She also offered an extra $50 for our troubles. And that she would send us the check for both the dog and the shipping company. sayking005@yahoo.com Sarah King
The next one also sent a message saying he wanted to know the health of the puppy and then wanted all of my information for the shipping company. I sent an email back saying that I was not buying into his scam. He replied that he is a business owner and doesnt do anything dirty and that if I had been scammed before that is not his problem. So I replied back to him that we do not ship our puppies and we have the right to choose who our babies go to.

| I have received several phone i711 relay calls hearing impaired service from someone named Mark Lopex lopex006@gmail.com .This person kept insisting on sending me extra $100 above the price I asked for a puppy to pay his shipping agent who would be picking up the pup. | We sold a puppy to a buyer in Florida. His deposit check was good but he waited until the last minute to send the balance. We were trusting and sent the puppy before the check came back as No Account
We had his address but that is all. Our Prosecuting Attorney didnt want to take a chance on getting the wrong person.

I should have known better but fell for there sad story about not being able to care for the puppies Yorkies because John was being deployed to Afghanistan.
Like a FOOL I sent 350.00 through Western Union.
Please learn from my mistake. Only buy from a local breeder so you can see the dogs first.

| Sometimes local breeders are not available, or if you are looking for a specific type and cannot find them locally online is still a good option.
Most scammers use Western Union because of the ease in which they can claim the funds with no identification.
To be safe do your research, check references, vetrinarians are great for this. If they have a dog that dog would have seen by a or more than one vetrinarian. Ask for pictures with specific items close to or next to the puppy or dog you are interested in, a piece of paper with your name and the date written on it. Dont fall for the broken camera, digital cameras are everywhere.... phones, ipods, even pcs have cameras now days. Ask questions MANY MANY questions, a legitimate responsible breeder will be aware of why you are asking and encourage you to ask as many questions as you like. There are NEVER any dumb or stupid questions. As a breeder I would question anyone purchasing a puppy from myself that didnt ask questions. Breeders see scams too, from people looking to get a free puppy by scamming to those looking to get $$ from you in overpayment, its a constant battle in todays times. But once you find that perfect puppy and the breeder who bred it for you to love, youll have made TWO lifetime friends.

| I believe the website and ad for perfectbullz.com is a scam. They state they have relocated to Springfield, OH, but are not willing to give me a location to visit the animals prior to purchase. Phone number given on email does not work. Domain search indicates that the domain was just created in 04/10 and is attached to an address outside of the continental U.S. There are numerous grammatical errors in their website and email response, and at least one of the pictures is pixilated.

| CCPD I contacted Gaby Cavanaugh about a Yorkie puppy in response to an ad she had placed in the Elizabethton Star TN newspaper. She gave me the John and Jeanette Pruitt e-mail address. I contacted them and the pushiness of the last message got me suspicious Im a probation officer, so I naturally have a suspicious nature. I Googled the names and found them on here. I have the e-mails if you would like for me to send them on to you. My e-mail address is kiddfan52003@yahoo.com. Just e-mail me and let me know if you need them and I will be happy to forward them. I have the e-mail addresses of the scammers as gabycavanaugh@gmail.com and jj4042010@live.com. Best of luck catching these snakes and let me know if you need any more info.

| Shinning starz, has a scam going on, said she has an english bulldog puppy for adoption but then tells you, you can pay $300 for 1 or $400 for 2 and send me pictures also she wanted me to wire her money and after I told her that I didnt trust sending money she said dont worry just go to the nearest Walmart. Even after I made her thing I was going to send her the money, I had my sister contact her an ask her about the puppies and she send her the exact e-mail to her a she send to me telling her they were still available, when I told her I new about her scam she never replied again BEWARE OF SHINNING STARZ

| Hi~ Im pretty sure that I have been scammed by Gaby Cavanaugh. She directed me to her brother in law and wife. The email address used is moonwalk1906@hotmail.com. He told me that he would sale me 2 yorkies for $350 because they were brother and sister, or 1 for $200. Then he told me that I would have to to pay $150 each for shipping. I told him that I couldnt afford to pay 150 each for the shipping and he said to pay $450 total and he would send the dogs to me so that they didnt have to be separated. I did and as soon as he picked up the money he told me he need $230 more to get a medical waiver for them to be put on the plane. When I told him that I would just drive to North Carolina and pick them up he stopped answering my emails. Is there anything that I can do?

Im sorry to hear of all of this...
As you can see in this exact post, Gaby Cavanaugh is a known scammer in the dog trade. Unfortunately, based on the information provided, I am not finding them as members of the website, and therefore, I cannot block their IP address from further placing false ads on the site. Do you have a link to their posting? Perhaps they are under another alias.
Sadly, when sending something via Western Union and so forth, you basically forfeit your ability to retrieve this money in the event of never receiving your purchase. This is why we are strong advocates of Puppy Escrow and find that most legitimate breeders are, too. It is possible to contact your local authorities as they may launch an investigation.
It is always best to research the individuals you are providing funds to prior to sending. Additionally, it is also best to make a claim Ripoff Report, etc. for the sake of other dog buyers, so that they know to beware of this person.

| I just wanted to report an email address that seems to be scamming for quite some time. I was trying adopt a yorkie puppy over the internet and I foudn an inexpensive one this is the ad http//www.hoobly.com/0/0/1614898.html
the person who replied back had the following email address gabycavanaugh@gmail.com who said the puppy had been adopted already but she directed me to her brother in law and his wife newyearbar@hotmail.com Carl and Diane Taylor who had more yorkies for adoption. After a few emails with this guy Carl i became suspicious and did a google search for him and his sister and found out that his sisters email address was listed several times on a website as a scammer so I wanted to report them before they scam more inocent people. Carl had said he would give me his Western Union Bank account to make the adoption deposit.

| UPDATE - Oscar is NOT a scammer after all. He provided us with the exact puppy that we ordered and she arrived a couple days later. She is the cutest thing we ever saw and she was well taken care of. Oscar is reliable and honest and you can feel comfortable and safe that your purchase will be satifactory.
