| black is a recognizable color for a GSD but White is not. White pups used to be put down at birth but someone found a market for them and bred to get them to sell and make a buck. I personally would stick to black and tans/silvers. But a black GSD is sure pretty You might want to do some research on the breed before you get anything. Good Luck

| The statement about White German Shepherds needing to be put down at birth.....this must be coming from a person that knows nothing about the history of the WGSD. Do not listen to anything this person says. WGSD is recognized by AKC and accepted. You cannot show them for the best of breed with AKC but you can show them in agility etc. You can show them for best of breed with UKC. The solid blacks and solid whites are beautiful intelligent dogs just like the colored shepherds.
If you do not know what you are talking about do not respond to the questions on this forum.

| Most of what you are asking is about genetics. Your color variations will definitely depend on what is behind both shepherds Black is predominantly a dominant gene BUT that does not mean you will only get blacks but its is a definite possibility when bred to the white. If you choose to cross a black on a black - you will most likely get blacks but then again you could possibly get other colors as it will depend on the lineage and genetics of the dogs. I would do your research and look into what will cross well with your dog or bitch. COLOR is just color. A Good dog could be pink for all I care As long as its a good dog. Please pay careful attention to temperament and conformation. If you have any questions about it Please feel free to contact me. I will help you in any way I can.

| I would not recommend breeding a Solid black dog with a solid white dog. With a breeding like this the recessive black gene will be more dominant than the recessive white Gene and all your puppies should be born solid BLACK and some puppies will have white markings.
