Trained but not trained.
I have a 7month old Dachshund she was potty trained and crate trained before i brought her home. Since then she has been fine she just recently went into her first heat and has started pooping and peeing in her crate and on the carpet. She is taken outside about once every hour so she should go but she doesnt. Ive reduced her crate back down so that she would feel like she has to hold it but she just goes anyways and makes a mess of herself. She is willing to please me and has learned many tricks such as sit lay down speak talk play dead dance and bear. I just dont understand whats wrong. Help

I have found that perfectly trained bitches soil their crates when they are in heat. Is it the hormones? Is it they have cramps? Who knows I just know that when the girls are in heat the chances of a soiled crate is there. By the way I dont punish them during this time as Ive found once the heat is gone. they quickly return to being potty trained. I hope you werent considering breeding your PUPPY on her first heat. She can be compared to a 12 year old girl in development....
