Studding your dog?
Was curious to how much the stud family should pay out to the breeding bitch family. Costs and such anything would help?

If you are asking if the owner of the stud dog should pay the owner of the bitch then the answer is nothing. The owner of the bitch normally pays the owner of the stud dog a fee or the stud owner could take pick of the litter. It is best to have a written contract stating what each party is responsible for and the amount of the stud fee. Also make sure both dogs have been health tested.

RE Studding your dog?
Ok if I choose to take pick of the litter then how much should I be paying to the owners of the female. The reason that I ask this is because I had an inquiry for my stud dog and she is asking that I help pay for the csection and while her female is pregnant? She is asking that we cover at least $400. It seems to me that if I provide the sperm for her dog and she is the one getting all the puppies out of the deal...then why should I have to pay anything if all I want is pick of the litter. My question simply is that if I have the stud dog should there be any out of pocket expense for us?

When I stud my male out the owner of the female is responsible for all the vet bills. We have a stud contract stating what each party is responsible for. Get everything in writing before the mating takes place. We also charge a boarding fee if the female stays here during the breeding. Hope this helps and good luck.
