| Im not a breeder but I have been thinking about getting started.. I have a beautiful purebred, AKC registered female yorkie, Lola, and a purebred registered male shih tzu.. My question is if they were to have puppies, would they be considered shorkies? Or does the mother have to be a shih tzu? Thanks

| No they would be. Make sure the yorkie female is big enough and that the male is smaller or you know that his parents/lines are small. I would take her in to your vet and ask if she is big enough to breed.

| I meant No the mother does not have to be a Shitz tu. Like Maltepoos the mother can be a maltese or poodle.
